Township has been described as “The Who on steroids with an Afro Latin twist”, and most recently released their second LP, TOWNSHIP VOL.1. They will be headlining at TT the Bear’s this Friday night w/ some help from the Dirty Truckers, Longtime Darlings and 66 Breakout.Township has been around since April of 2006 when they released their first EP. 2 EP’s and 2 LP’s later, the Boston based band have racked up a slew of good press all the while being nominated by the Boston Phoenix for Best Local/Live Act, 2 nominations by the Boston Music Awards for Outstanding New Act/Outstanding Rock Band, and taking home the 29th Annual WBCN Rock n Roll Rumble. The latest record was ranked in the Top 10 albums of 2008 by both the Boston Globe and Boston Metro. The band will be headlining at TT the Bear’s this Saturday night w/ some help from the Dirty Truckers. Be sure to check back Monday, where I’m sure we’ll have some video and interviews from the show. In the meantime, click here to see their video from “Gunnin Thru the Niter."

Ralphs Nov21-1

Call it Diner City. Call it Wormtown. But either way Worcester is home to some of the best art and live music in Massachusetts. What better place to catch both than Ralph's Chadwick Square Rock Diner. This Saturday, November 21, they will host a benefit show for the Worcester Artist Group featuring The Balls reunion. One of 'Gansetts favorite bands, Tony Jones and the Cretin 3 will also be playing along with Jetset and Timebeings. Ralphs has always kept it simple; burger, veggieburger, chili or chiliburger and of course plenty of refreshing Rock & Roll! It's no wonder Narragansett will be the official sponsor of the evening. So get to Ralphs, eat a burger, chug a 'Gansett and watch some awesome punk for a great cause.

Troy Brown and girls

Former New England Patriot Troy Brown will be in Rhode Island this Saturday, November 21 for 2 Narragansett tastings. His first stop is at Heritage Liquors, 529 Reservoir Ave. in Cranston from 1:30 to 3 PM. Then again at Haxtons Kent, 2334 West Shore Road in Warwick from 3:30 to 5 pM. And if you want to get in the VIP line at Haxtons, then please bring a canned good to donate to the RI Food Bank. So come by a case to help us build a brewery and get an autograph from Troy Brown.
