This Weekend: CT Tastings And Newport Art Museum

It's a long weekend and that means you'll need to stock up on some beer. We have three tastings events going on in CT and that's three ways to get some Gansett Gear and sample our new Summer Ale while your at. Then grad a case or two for your cookout this weekend. On Friday, May 27 we'll at Island Packy in Jewett City from 4 to 7pm and at A&P Liquors in Old Lyme from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Then on Saturday, May 28 we'll be at Al’s Warehouse on Main Ave in Norwalk from 5 to 8pm.

Island Breeze to Perform at Next 4th Friday Newport Art Museum Friday, May 27, 2011

NEWPORT, RI: The Newport Art Museum invites guests to unwind at the end of the work week and get ready for warmer weather with the Caribbean steel pan music of Island Breeze. The duo, an off-shoot of local reggea band Hot Like Fire, will entertain at 4th Fridays, the Museum's live music and art series, May 27 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to explore the Museum's galleries. Two new exhibitions will be up and open for viewing, "Trent Burleson: Birds and Other Metaphors" and "Things with Wings." Visitors will also have an opportunity to see "Stop. Run. Play. Photographs by Susan Duca" again before it ends May 30. Admission is $5 for Museum members, $8 for non-members. Reservations are not necessary. There will be a cash bar. Boston based, Island Breeze is comprised of steel pan, keyboards, trumpet and vocals. The duo features Kelley B., a Berklee College of Music grad and Charleston Sarjeant, a veteran steel pan performer. Together Kelley and Charleston entertain with traditional calypso, reggae and bossa nova melodies as well as original music. The May 4th Friday is sponsored in part by Narragansett Brewing Co., Rentals Unlimited, Newport Wine Cellar and Benjamin's Raw Bar.
