Yes! Narragansett beer made its way into Pennsylvania last month. Specifically in the Philadelphia area. And we kicked it off with two great events.
The first event was with Philadelphia Weekly, that runs a Rooftop Hop Series hosted at various new condos or apartment complexes around the city. Who doesn't like a fancy rooftop party on a gorgeous Summer night? Especially if there's going to be cold ’Gansetts involved. This Rooftop Hop series was created in 2008 to coincide with PW's HOME glossy guide to real estate. They received a very positive response from both guests and properties at a number of different venues last year. So ’Gansett joined them for last Wednesday's Rooftop Hop at the fantastic 777 South Broad location. The Gansett Girls served bottles of New England's famous lager as everyone enjoyed them watching the beautiful view and sunset of their amazing city. Here are some more photos from the event.
Then we headed over to the Summer Grand Slam and Barbecue on Saturday, at the Painted Bride Art Center. This event featured the winners of the First Person Arts' monthly themed StorySlams, in which participants tell personal stories and compete for points on content and presentation. Winners from January to May's StorySlams competed at this Grand Slam and the overall winner won the title of Best Storyteller in Philadelphia, as well as lifetime free admission to StorySlams. They had a barbecue with foods from Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse and Herr's and drinks from Narragansett and ROOT liquor. Brooklyn-based rockers Peculiar Gentlemen rocked the Slam as well. For more info check out firstpersonarts.org. Thanks to this Grand Slam and BBQ Gansett was mentioned in the Citypaper as well as The Philadelphia Inquirer.
