5th Anniversary Of Gansett's Return

Five years ago on this day, Mark Hellendrung and a small group of locals brought back our famous New England lager....Narragansett beer. Why? Because it's New England's beer, Rhode Island's beer, our beer and now it's back in local hands. He got together with former Narragansett master brewer Bill Anderson, to recreate the heritage recipe. And we all know that Gansett's got that flavor. The taste that people who really know beer like best. The same in bottle, can or on tap. The label might have changed, but it's what's inside that counts. Step back five years and we were throwing back $1.50 tall boys at the Decatur on Tuesday nights. Or it was the Summer '05 and we all hit Club Hell on Friday nights for Rock & Roll High School and $2 tall boys. That was before they started having bands there. What a great Summer and it was all thanks to Narragansett's return. This Summer is going to be even better. Since Narragansett is now in more bars, package stores and states. Presently, you can enjoy a Gansett in 5 our of 6 New England states, parts of Florida and soon in Philadelphia. Five years ago our hearts would pound when we would walk into a bar and shout over the music, "Do you have Narragansett beer?" The bartender would reply, "Yes!" Or there were those spots that looked at us as if we had 2 heads and then we'd walk out. And now after 5 great years and many empty bottles later, we hoist a Narragansett beer. Thank god it's back in local hands. It's time to rebuild the brewery and bring back our local heritage beer to it's full glory...for all to experience for generations to come. Sign our petition, demand Gansett in your local bar or package store, and keep drinking your part. It's because of you that we are able to have Gansett back. So we at Narragansett beer thank you from the bottom of our hears and barrels. And the next time you see Mark, a Gansett Girl or anyone else on our team, make sure you say, "Hi Neighbor, thanks for bringing back our beer!"
