About the Amos House:
Since its opening in 1976, the Amos House has provided direct support to people who are hungry, homeless and in crisis. From a small soup kitchen operated out of a South Providence tenement house, Amos House has grown into a thriving social service agency with twelve buildings, a revenue generating business and a 50-person staff that provides numerous services to more than 15,000 people each year. The organization’s holistic approach to helping people change their lives includes providing free breakfast and lunch meals, transitional and permanent supportive housing, job and literacy training, substance abuse counseling and emergency assistance. Amos House has strong relationships with other agencies including Crossroads Rhode Island, the largest homeless shelter in the state. By collaborating, these organizations help residents meet their various needs more effectively, from mental health and substance abuse counseling to job placement and housing assistance.

Location: The Amos House is located at 414 Friendship Street, Providence, RI 02907-1110 Contact: (401) 272-0220

We also want to thank Ricks Roadhouse for the baked beans, mashed potatoes, and corn-bread stuffing; and Olga's Cup & Saucer for the bread. They are both located in Providence and definitely helped make this meal complete. Neighbors helping neighbors this holiday.
