The Patriots are in the playoffs this weekend and that means get ready to party. You can't have a Sunday football party without the proper snacks. Chili's always a game day favorite and pairing it with a 'Gansett Cream Ale is a winning combo. Thanks to our Twitter follower @Bry_nFlynn for this one. Go Pats!
1LB Ground Turkey
1/2LB Bacon
2 Green Peppers
1 Red Onion
1/2 Can 'Gansett Cream Ale
1 Dried Ancho Chile
8oz Strong Coffee
1 Head Roasted Garlic
1 Clove Fresh Garlic
Salt (appx 2Tbs)
Black Pepper
1 Tbs Roasted Cumin
1 Tbs Ground Chipotle
1 Tbs Dried Oregano
1 Tbs Onion Powder
In a large pot brown the ground turkey and bacon over medium heat. About halfway through add the peppers, onion, fresh garlic clove and season with the salt and pepper to taste. Once the meat is cooked add the Cream Ale, coffee, dried chile, roasted garlic and the rest of the spices. Raise to medium-high heat and bring to a boil for no more than 15 mins. Then reduce heat to medium-low and let it simmer for an hour or more. Once it's ready to serve top with your favorite shredded cheddar cheese and serve with either tortilla chips or sourdough bread for dipping.
