All this past weekend at the German Hall in Pawtucket was the ultimate guitar party for all guitar enthusiasts and collectors. The coolest guitar players from the East Coast and beyond gathered for The Colonel’s Super Dooper Guitar Party! Rare, unique, and unusual guitars were on display and for sale. The ‘Gansett Girls escorted the musicians for the Colonel’s Super Dooper Guitar Party Opening and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.
There were several amazing live performances including Lester Peabody (Finland), Duke Robillard (R.I.), Guitar Zack Weisinger (Pittsburgh Pa./L.A.), The Cobra-Matics (R.I.), The Fathoms (Mass.), Miss Barbara Lynn (Beaumont, Tx.), The Sean Mencher Combo (Maine), Joe Beard (Rochester, N.Y.), Brown Bird Rudy Relic (NYC), J.Geils Kings of Strings (Boston, Mass.), Susquehannah Industrial Tool and Die (NYC), Orb. Mellon (Ct.), and more. Fans could even meet and greet the Stars and get autographs! The highlight of the show was of course the Colonel’s All Star 1950’s Guild Guitar and Premier Amp Band with all of Friday nights’ guest performers. Saturday during the day guitar enthusiasts enjoyed some great clinics from The Colonel & Lester Peabody and Tom Ferraro & Guitar Zack Wiesinger.
Everyone was enjoying all of the vintage memorabilia, photos, delicious food, and ‘Gansett drafts. There were some great Gretsch Gear and a Gretsch guitar giveaway. There were other awesome items raffled off with plenty of door prizes and must have items from our Narragansett and and the other guitar sponsors for every guitar and amp loving enthusiast! This was a one-of-a-kind event for the dedicated guitar lover and Narragansett is glad we didn’t miss it! Check out the videos of the vintage guitars and amps galore on display, a clip of the Colonel’s All-Star performance, and the guitar party awards!
The Down City Fusion Fest had an amazing turn-out despite the chilly weather. Narragansett was there serving both out lager and light beer for everyone to enjoy. Tazza had some delicious candy apples and pumpkin breads to pair with it. WBRU hosted some great local music from Bixit, Alva & Emily Smith, and Synergy. The ‘Gansett Girls even painted some pumpkins that you can see pictured below.
