"Hi neighbor, have a ’gansett!"

It’s a phrase that is iconic with new England, but most notably, rhode island. Narragansett beer had been a part of rhode island for years, with the brewery being in Cranston, RI. Sometime in the ’80s, the brewery was shut down & eventually demolished. It began its revival early last decade, and in recent years, the man in charge of the brand, mark hellendrung, has made it his goal to build a narragansett brewery in rhode island, if not, somewhere in new England. It would make more sense being in RI though. The goal is to sell 7,000,000 cases of gansett. Please, I beg of all of you, as a native rhode islander, buy as much of this beer as possible so our state can get some jobs with this proposed brewery. Aside from the state of Michigan, no other state has a worse unemployment rate as we do. Sure, we have a low population and being the smallest state doesn’t help us out much, but I am BEGGING you, if it comes down to choosing budweiser, miller, PBR, or natty ice, buy the gansett. If your local bar or liquor store doesn’t have it in stock, tell them they need to carry it (12-pk here costs $9!).

The taste of this beer is not bad, the aroma is like that of average beers. The drinkability is very easy. My rating for taste is 7, aroma is 7, and drinkability is 10.5. With a total of 24.5/30, my final score is 82. I would give it a higher score, but if I did that, it would be like rhode island politics (corrupt). I love Narragansett beer! If they sold bud, bud light, miller, miller high life, gansett and PBR, I would take the gansett EVERY time. At the bars in this area, gansett sells for $2. Just sayin’.
