Vintage: Gold Plated Gansett Bottle

What a thing of beauty. Ever drink beer from a gold plated bottle? Every employee who worked at the Narragansett brewery in 1959 did. Or at least some drank it and others might have saved it unopened. This owner tasted and enjoyed every drop, then was kind enough to let us have the bottle. These were given to every employee at the brewery in 1959 to commemorate the one-million barrel milestone at the brewery. Imagine what we'll do when we hit that milestone again. It can happen. Keep drinking your part.

Does anyone know how many of these “gold” bottles were made?

Are they real gold or just gold paint? Value?

These bottles originally came with a wire clip that held a printed card extolling the milestone. The bottles aren’t all that hard to come by, but finding one with an original intact card and holder is much more difficult.
