2nd Annual Rock ’n Soul Holiday Benefit Concert

Many great musicians and performers will present a concert to raise funds to support research to cure breat cancer with the second annual Rock ’n Soul Holiday Concert at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on Sunday December 19, 2010 at 8:00 p.m..
Reaching out to many of New England’s finest performers to come sing a song, play a tune and revel with the fans and other musicians at a concert and sing-along.
This year again features soul belter Barrence Whitfield supported by the Rock ’n Soul Holiday All Stars including Professor Doug Bell, Jeff "Jungle Boy" Thompson, John "Paperback" Ryder, Phil Deville and Jimmy "Two Suits" Capone supported by last year’s horn section Paul Ahlstrand and Mario Perrett.
This year the performers include former J. Geils Band bassist Danny Klein’s Full House, current Grammy nominee Bellevue Cadillac, Barrence Whitfield, Casey Desmond, The Fools, Robin Lane, Sal Baglio, Johnny Barnes & The NightCrawlers, Cindy Daley & Satch Romano, Classic Ruins, The Liz Borden Band and Tomo Fujita.
The price of admission will be $25.00 for Reserved Seating in intimate showplace, with a very limited amount of Preferred Seating available for only $30.00 ($3 facility fee included in each ticket price).
Net proceeds from this event will benefit Music Drives Us (www.musicdrivesus.org) and OurSpace Center (www.ourspacerocks.org) for Teens with Cancer. Attendees are also asked to bring a New Unwrapped Toy or child's holiday gift for Toys For Tots. (www.toysfortots.org)
The Regent Theatre is expected to sell out early and makes this an annual event that allows the music community of New England to gather for festive holiday cheer, camaraderie and to support the mission that commemorates all music styles. Classic artists share the stage with talented new comers in a musical union worthy of the holiday spirit.
The Rock ’n Soul Holiday Concert will take place at the historic Regent Theatre, on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The Regent Theatre is located at 7 Medford Street (off Mass. Ave.) in Arlington, Massachusetts, and is MBTA and handicap accessible, with free parking across the street.
The Music Drives Us foundation, is a New England non-profit foundation supplying grants for music programs to effect positive changes for people in need. The Foundation seeks out organizations and individuals that are interested in using music as a tool for all segments of society and for all age groups. The mission of Our Space is to embrace children and teens who have faced or are confronting cancer. Our Space will inspire peace, spirit, and healing within a supportive community, through play, learning, and creative exploration. The co-founders of Our Space are both breast cancer survivors and have experienced the healing powers of art and connections to others. We have a strong desire to have a place where children and teens can continue to experience their role as child, friend, student, and family member, despite the many challenges that a life threatening illness can bring.
