Start stretching that stomach. Or just get ready for the hilariousness that is going to take place at Buks this Sunday. It may be nothing new, but this hot dog eating contest is sponsored by Gansett. Why? Because hot dogs and beer are the most American food to have. Even though they both originated in Germany. Either way, Bukowski's Tavern in Cambridge is having a hot dog eating contest this Sunday at 3pm in their Inman Square location. There's no confirmation on Kobayashi entering yet. So get ready. Whoever consumes and keeps down the most hot dogs in 12 minutes will win. The entry fee is only $10 and if you think about it, all you have to do is eat 10 hot dogs to get your monies worth. Wait, that's a lot of meat and buns. 10 hot dogs could mean you win. The winner gets a trophy, a years worth of bragging rights and $500 cash. The cash will cover your tab of the Gansetts and whiskey you consume during your victory party afterward. The second place gets $200 worth of assorted gift certificates (hopefully one is to Urban Outfitters so you can buy a new plaid shirt since yours got mustard stains on it from this contest) and some Bukowski's Tavern shwag.
