New England Heritage: Providence Ranks #3 For Foodie Cities

Travel + Leisure just ran an article on the top foodie cities in America. And guess who came in third? Yes, it's our hometown of Providence. With great spot's like Nick's, Thee Fez, Julian's, Louie's, Amas, hell you name it, this didn't come as a surprise. And it doesn't stop there. We have a great local farm community that supplies not just the area's restaurants, but the grocery stores as well. Just about every weekend there are fantastic farmers markets with fresh local and sustainable seafood, meat, dairy and produce. Need we say more? Here's what the magazine had to say:

For Rhode Island foodies, farm-to-table is just the beginning. Some great restaurants in Providence’such as Chez Pascal on Hope Street, or Nick’s on Broadway, in the West End’offer "boat-to-table" seafood that comes direct from local fishermen. AFC voters also love the homey vibe of this New England city: they ranked it third for its hole-in-the-wall cafés, burgers, and pizza (which some locals like grilled).
