What would the Rhode Island Open be without Narragansett beer? Last Monday Heron Creek Golf & Country Club in North Port, FL held the Rhode Island Open golf tournament. With over 130 golfers competing, the favorite prize was a case of Gansett and a t-shirt. Many of those competing were New Englanders who recently moved to sunny Florida. Our own Jim Crooks was down there with a rough golf game and a score of 92. Better luck next time Jim. Although he did get to see an alligator. Someone should have given that gator a 'Gansett.
