New England Heritage: Rhode Island Air Show
"Talk to me, Goose!" The Rhode Island Air Show is a great place for families and friends to witness the talents of pilot performers from the safety of the tarmac. The National Guard will transform the military airport into a crowd-friendly air show and then back again, all for your entertainment. Enjoy a nonstop flying schedule with more than ten different routines, and performances by the USAF Thunderbirds and the Black Daggers. Stop by the beer tent and cool off with a Gansett. Here's more from their website: The Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show was established in 1991 as a major community event that everyone from the region could be proud of and enjoy. The airshow offers the finest aerial and static displays along with activities for people of all ages. We are proud to be celebrating our 22nd anniversary and will be featuring the USAF Thunderbirds on 16 & 17 June 2012. From its inception the show has operated with a simple creed; put on a world class show featuring only the best aircraft and pilots and operate the show totally for the benefit of the community. June 16–17. 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Free admission. Quonset State Airport, Minuteman Way, North Kingstown, Red more at riairshow.org.
