The Rhode Island State Arm Wrestling Championship at Bailey's Pub in North Providence this weekend was a blast. The 'Gansett Girl there had never been to an armwrestling competition before, so the competitors filled her in on the rules and regulations. For the first few hours of the tournament most people were not drinking, that changed shortly after they were done with their match everyone loved the Gansett! The competitors came from all over New England for this event. We met some interesting people. The gentleman in the pic above in Norm Devio from Hopkington MA. Norm is 69 years young and has been a competitive arm wrestler for 35 years. Throughout his arm wrestling career he has won 20-30 National Titles which include sit down & stand up, right & left arm, open division (no age restriction) and masters division (40+). The other competitors call Norm "A Legend.” The gentleman in the blue shirt is Rober Vigeant, 29 years old, he is from Hudson NH and has been arm wrestling for 5 years. He holds the Multi-National Championship Title.
The Bicycle Film Festival hit Boston this past weekend and Narragansett headed down to the Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge on Friday night. Want to thank Josh and Zack from Open Bicycle for having us and of course the good folks at Middlesex for hosting the evening. Check out this video from the night.
The Gansett Girls were at Tavern 12 on Wednesday and it was Karaoke night! They were able to get on the mic and make an announcement about the drink specials for the night - buy a Gansett pint and you get to keep the glass! Gansetts were only $2.50 for the night. We also had some swag to give away and used it as a reward for the best karaoke singers of the night! Sing a song with a Gansett in hand... get a Gansett t-shirt! Even the Gansett girls were getting in on the Karaoke action and sang Sweet Caroline with a fellow Gansett lover to keep those Red Sox Fans happy! This was a fun event and the bar seemed to love having the Gansett girls there!
