On August 1st and 2nd, Narragansett Beer renews its sponsorship of the Newport Folk Festival at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. This year, the festival has taken on the moniker "Folk Festival 50" in honor of the 50th anniversary of one of the longest running music festivals in the country. Narragansett Beer was there when the festival first opened in 1959 and when Dylan went electric in 1965, and now we are back on board for the 50th anniversary edition of this American classic. Narragansett will be sponsoring the first annual Word x Word Festival in Pittsfield, MA from Aug 17th - 22nd. Word X Word Festival is a celebration of the performed word...written, spoken and sung; poets, authors, songwriters, playwrights, comedians, and bloggers. This is a one week, multi-venue festival in the beautiful Berkshires area of western Massachusetts. The headliner is RI’s own rising stars of the music scene, "The Low Anthem".
