"Vegetarians are just really bad hunters" shouts the bumper sticker from the wall behind the bar at Rick's Roadhouse. Located in the heart of the Jewelery District in Providence, this newer establishment is home to some the area's best known barbecue. Not to mention the giant "Whiskey Bar" sign that glows so bright you can see it from Nick-A-Nee's. Wait cold 'Gansett on tap and a shot of whiskey? Possibly the best drinking match-up around. We prefer to order it as "shot and a beer." And Rick's claims to have the largest selection of whiskeys in town. Over 41 to wet your whistle with. But it gets better. If you watched the above video you noticed that they also offer Gansett light tall boys for a great deal of just $2.25. Giant glasses of lager draft, big cans, whiskey and BBQ...these are a few of our favorite things!

Can we talk about their food? It's unreal and you better come hungry. From grilled aged steaks to award winning BBQ there's so much to choose from you'll have to go back for more. One of our favorites are the nachos that come piled high with pulled pork slow cooked and spiced to perfection. Like Kim mentioned in the video above they have in-house smoking capabilities so the ribs just fall off the bone. Remember what we said about vegetarians? Even the Trailer Trash Mac and Cheese comes with smoked ham. And don't worry about getting sauce on the linens or worse your fancy suit. The atmosphere is as casual as they come. Sort of like taking a road trip to Texas and stopping for some grub on the way. But you might want to roll up your sleeves and maybe even wear a bib. Finger-licking good!

By the way, the 'Gansett Girls frequent Rick's quite a bit. In fact they'll be there this Friday night getting down honky tonk style. Hopefully that Kenny Chesney track, "She Thinks My Tractors Sexy," will be playing in their jukebox that night. And then on March 12 we'll be having one of our 120th Anniversary celebrations there. There's even karaoke every Tuesday night. Just visit them online ricksroadhouseri.com for more. What are you waiting for?
