Happy St. Joseph’s Day!

It’s St. Joseph’s Day! Each year everyone enjoys Zeppoles to celebrate the feast of the patron Saint of Sicily. In the Middle Ages, St. Joseph saved Sicily from a drought. Zeppoles became the common menu item at each feast to commemorate the Saint. They start with a puff-like pastry shell, then fill and top it with pastry cream. It’s dusted with confectionery sugar and garnished with a maraschino cherry. Enjoy these delightful treats now until Easter. Visit LaSalleBakery.com for more.
