Fourth Of July On Block Island
Twenty-four hours is like three weeks when you're on Block Island on the Fourth Of July. Thousands of people will flock to the Block to celebrate the 4th. With white sandy beaches, clean-crisp water, and tons of events going on, it literally is the place to be. Anyone who's anyone knows that. Enjoy local fresh seafood at one of the several eateries and then dance the night away at some of the areas best beach bars and nightclubs. There's tons of great little shops to pick up some souvenirs to bring home. Snack on homemade fudge and salt-water taffy too. Every year the town holds a fun parade and at the end of the route there's a huge party at The Oar. For the past six years, Narragansett has been the official beer of this party. We set up on the lawn with outdoor draft specials, cornhole tournaments and tons of Gansett Gear prizes. It's the biggest day of the summer and like Mayor Vaughn said in JAWS, "Gonna be one of the best summers we've ever had." With that we leave you a Billy Joel tune to fire you up.
