Band Of The Week: Kodiak Attack

Kodiak Attack is relatively new to the music scene in New England. Based right here in Providence, RI they have already played countless shows opening for some great acts like We The Kings, Civil Twilight and are now releasing their first EP. All this in about a year. The band came together with members from two previous bands, Penrose and The Invite, and formed one of the breakout artists for 2010 in Rhode Island. Working with Mike Poorman at Strangeways Recording Studio, this record is a must have for any rock music fan. So this Friday we are celebrating the release of their first record along with some other great bands including Sleep City, Cooper's Flight, Avery and Watch Your Head. Sorry, but Too Tall Grizzly couldn't make it. The above flier was created before the band swap. It's going to be more than just a record release show. It's going to be one hell of a party and a showcase of what 2011 is going to bring for music. The first 50 people through the door 21 and over will receive a wooden nickel good for one free Gansett that night. The 'Gansett Girls will be on site raffling off some great prizes for people and playing games. Now how does that sound? It all goes down this Friday, January 7th at The Met in Pawtucket with doors opening at 7pm for only $8! If you haven't been yet, The Met is the newest venue for RI and has become THE place to see a show. Don't miss this one!
