Texas has Lone Star. Pennsylvania has Yuengling. But until Mark Hellendrung revived the defunct Narragansett Brewing Company in 2005, New England lacked a native blue-collar beer. Now its retro label appears in hipster bars throughout the region. "We're shipping our millionth case this [month]," says Hellendrung, former president of Nantucket Nectars. Next year he hopes to rebuild the actual brewery in Rhode Island, as production is currently based in (gasp) New York. "We're on a good place. I've got a meeting with the mayor next week."
