Clammie's Blog

By. Clammie

This is my blog, the only blog in the world dedicated to Clam. Many people think that Clam should be seen and not heard, and as such, we are often misunderstood, misrepresented and underappreciated (why would anyone not appreciate Clam?). It is my hope that we can change all of that here.

But first, I'd like to talk about the Starfish. Everyone loves starfish... kids pet them at aquariums, people place them on the beach shack coffee tables and woman adorn themselves with starfish pendants and charms (why is there not Clam jewelery?) Recently, ocean biologists have observed that the starfish population is on the rise on the New England shoreline. Some have even commented that this is interesting, a potentially healthy sign given the higher levels of pollution.

This is all nice, good for starfish, except starfish eats Clam! The Clam is under assault right beneath you as you swim at our beautiful New England beaches. This is not good for the Clam, it's not good for local fisherman, and it is not good for you. So please, help me stop the starfish and save the Clam!
