Heineken Sales Down, Profits up

Yet another global mega-brewer recently announced that their sales in 2009 were down while their profits were up. How do you do that? In what seems to be an acknowledgment of people’s desire for local products and variety, Wal-Mart announced that they are splitting the country into regional zones “to fine-tune the mix of products sold to suit local tastes.”

Boulevard Battles Bud On Home Turf

In the year since InBev, a Belgian-based brewing company, bought Anheuser-Busch, Boulevard has not only gained bragging rights as Missouri’s largest home-based brewery but has seen its grocery sales increase 26 percent in the St. Louis market.
