The right amount of beer fit for a king…of the jungle that is. It get’s hot in there so grab a cold Gansett. But 12oz weren’t enough so they made it bigger. A 16oz King-Size bottle. Yes sir, those were real. Smaller than the GIQ, but bigger than the average bottle. Maybe that’s why the 16oz tall boys are so popular nowadays. More beer for your buck. And if you’re not drinking Narragansett beer, then you’re not from New England!

Word x Word Festival headliners have their verbal armories at the ready. This year’s line-up includes Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Langhorne Slim, Mike & Ruthy, New England Americana Festival performers, and spoken word artists Derrick Brown and Rives. They all are among the 60 plus performers who will be in downtown Pittsfield Aug. 21- 29 for the second annual festival, a celebration of words written, spoken, and sung. “There are only a handful of urban festivals in the country and most are staged in large cities,” said festival founder and director Jim Benson. “The thing about Word x Word is it’s new, edgy, and fun as hell but rooted in the Berkshires.” Word x Word gathers emerging singer-songwriters, spoken word poets, and actors on the cutting edge of their craft. Dear New England college students,
It’s one of the most exciting times of the year. Summer is winding down and Fall is on the horizon. There’s a specific feeling that the Fall season brings upon you. The smell of the crisp New England air and the sight of the leaves turning. The sound of the New England Patriots on the TV during Sunday dinner at Ma’s house and the taste of the pumpkin spice in your Dunkin Donuts coffee. This unique time of year is also the start of a fresh and new beginning for some. Yes it’s the time that parents love the most and retailers offer huge sales because it’s Back-To-School. For college students, this is also the most important time in your life. Senior year of College is a time for young adults to enter the world of higher education with an open mind and to leave it with a life direction. Read more »

How good does that sound? Two of the best things to pair with a beer combined in one tasty dish. Scallops are juicy, flavor and in close relation to clams. Bacon makes just about thing taste good and the best pairing for a cold lager. They add bacon to burgers and pizza, so why not fresh seafood from the boats in New Bedford, MA. This is also a great dish to get the party started. Try this appetizer at your next event. Read more »

This year marks the 35th anniversary of JAWS. By far one of the coolest movies ever made. It also remains a top grossing film. To celebrate, Gansett teamed up with the Somerville Theatre for a two-night only showing. It was like watching the film for the first time. As if we haven’t seen it a million times already, but there was just something about the atmosphere that the Somerville Theatre offers. The smell of the popcorn and the sound of Gansett tall boys cracking made the experience even better. Read more »
