Weekend Recap: Grog & Dog Jog, Crush It Like Quint And Metro West Brew Fest
The Wild Colonial Tavern in Providence held their annual relay road race called the Grog & Dog Jog last week. There were over 70 teams competing each with 4 runners per team. Each runner must run about a mile, then eat a hot dog and down a Gansett before the next runner can take off. Sounds easy, but once you get back and take the first bite, the bread just makes your mouth go instantly dry. So you have to quench your thirst with an ice cold Gansett. There’s some strategy involved too. You could be a slow runner, but eat and chug so fast the next runner on your team has a good start. Team Gansett didn’t win, but they sure were champs at downing a Saugy and chuggin’ that beer. Can’t wait for next year. Check out all the photos below courtesy of Scott Mason. Anna Liffey's in New Haven held their own "Crush It Like Quint" contest last week. The winner of the best Quint impression won a copy of JAWS Blu-Ray. Check out the video above. The Metr0-West Brew Fest in Holliston, MA was a big success last week. We were pouring the Cream, Fest, Lager and Light. People who hadn't tried them were blown away by the Cream and Fest. Folks were talking it up and lining up as referrals, with a good amount of them saying it was the best beer in the house! All proceeds benefited Holliston Community Action Fund, so really great cause. All around great brew Fest and one that we definitely want to attend each year.
