This Weekend: BBAJ Opens And Clambakes And Brewfests In CT
The Wilbury Group is proud to present the RI premiere of the award-winning rock musical, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, and a book by Alex Timbers, July 12-28 2012 in a new performance space at the beautifully restored Butcher Block Mill Building, 25 Eagle Street, Providence. Directed by Wilbury Group producer Josh Short (Director, The Lieutenant of Inishmore at The Wilbury Group) & David Tessier (Musical Director, Hedwig & the Angry Inch at Perishable Theatre), Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson uses a raucous blend of infectious rock and roll and outrageous comedy to tell a mostly true/partly fictional tale of our nation's highly controversial seventh president. On the way, the audiences witnesses the role of American populism in shaping our history through the story of the man who invented the Democratic Party, doubled the size of our nation, and sent thousands of Native American's on the Trail of Tears.
