Happy 108th Birthday To Dr. Seuss

Born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, MA, Theodor Geisel became one of the beloved authors of children’s books for years to come. Before his claim to fame, he developed some great images for Narragansett Brewing which were used in several ads. It just so happens that our bock beer is hitting the shelves this week and we came across the above image. “Too Good To Miss” says it all. His family were also brewers in Springfield and owned the Kalmbach and Geisel Brewery before prohibition took its toll and forced them to close. So Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss. He would have been 108 today. For more vintage ads and bio on Theodor Geisel and his brewing family check out our earlier blog, “Who Knew Dr. Seuss Could Brew.”
