Weekend Recap: Island Creek Oyster Fest And More

The Island Creek Oyster Festival took place this past Saturday at Duxbury Beach in Massachusetts. All we have to say is, “WOW!” What a party that was. In total they went through over 100 kegs of Gansett. Now that’s a lot of beer. The food and music was outstanding to match. If you missed this, then make sure you keep it on your radar for next year. It’s one hell of a good time. Just check out the photo gallery below and read more about the festival below.

This year, the 6th annual Island Creek Oyster Festival expands with two days of epicurean festivities taking place on Duxbury Beach. On Friday, September 9th,  Island Creek Oysters Foundation will host its first beach-chic VIP benefit called Friends for Haiti, benefitting Haiti’s Caribbean Harvest. On Saturday, September 10th,  the Festival continues with an afternoon-long, sustainable celebration of summer featuring over 20 of New England and New York City’s brightest star Chefs and highlighting the best in local oysters, food, music and libations. The Festival benefits the Island Creek Oysters Foundation, which provides funding, expertise, and labor to help build sustainable aquaculture systems in impoverished communities worldwide.
