Weekend Recap: Hi Neighbor Homestand, Battle Of The Badges, Vansons And Cox Rhode Races

Narragansett beer was everywhere this weekend and it all started on Friday night with another Hi Neighbor Homestand. It began around 5pm near the Baseball Tavern (on the street). TallBoy and the Gansett Gang headed down Boylston Street, left on Ispwich Street, left onto Lansdowne. Strolled down Lansdowne St, passing House of Blues, Bleacher Bar, Game On. Took a right on Brookline Ave. around the corner at the Cask n Flagon. Walked over the Mass Pike and into Kenmore Square. Walked down by the Kenmore MBTA station all while stopping to say Hi Neighbor and take photos with the fans. Check those out below. We ended at Lower Depths (476 Comm Ave) with a promotion and games and prizes from 5:45 - 7:00pm. Then on Saturday night we were at The Castle at Park Plaza for the Battle Of The Badges. A great boxing match where fighters from the NYPD took on the Massachusetts Law Enforcement. Boston ended up winning and an all star cast including Vinnie Pazienza (Pazmanian Devil) were among the attendees. Vinnie Paz is a 5 time World Champion from RI (the picture below with the 3 girls and the man in the silver suit and white hat is Vinnie). Peter 'Hurricane' McNeeley, former heavy weight boxer who fought Mike Tyson back in the day and the Boston PD Commissioner of Boston, Ed Davis, was there as well. Vanson Leather's in Fall River had the spring open house all weekend long. They had live music, a grill going and lots of cold Gansett tall boys. Folks were invited to recycle their old leather's with Vansons. They also raffled off 2 custom Narragansett beer jackets which you can see in the photos below. To top it off we ended at the Cox Rhode Races in Downtown Providence on Sunday. After the 5k, half-marathon and marathon were finished, the runners and spectators piled into the Downtown Skating Center for a Gansett to quench their thirst with and some food. All in all it was a great weekend. You can check out all the photos from all of these great events below. Maybe you were there and are in one of them.
