Gansett's Top 10 of 2009: 7 Through 5

Number 7: Troy Brown

Patriots legend, Troy Brown joined the cause this year to help Narragansett beer build a brewery. With that he made several signing appearances at stores and bars throughout southern New England. The most memorable being his stop at Table & Vine in West Springfield, MA which is the above news feature. Fans lined up out the door not only to meet Troy Brown, but to buy a case, sign our petition and help us build a brewery. Over 150 cases of Narragansett went out the door that day in Spring. Troy Brown made other memorable appearances throughout the year, but the Table & Vine tasting still holds the record for most cases sold.

Number 6: Mark's speech in front of the RI State Assembly

In our efforts to re-build the Narragansett Brewery we began the Drink Your Part campaign this year. With the petition and help from you, all we ask is for every beer drinking New Englander to buy a case so we can make this happen. You buy a case, we build a brewery. So to help kick this off, Mark spoke in front of the RI House Of Representatives earlier this year. He gathered support from local politicians by telling them about our petition and brewery campaign. Just check out the above video to hear what he had to say.

Number 5: Tall Boy

The Tall Boy can has almost become iconic for Narragansett beer. Similar to Theodor Geisel's Chief Gansett in the 40's, whenever someone sees a tall boy they know it's a 'Gansett. So we only thought it right to make a character out of him. And now the 'Gansett Girls and fans everywhere love Tall Boy. He made appearances at all sorts of Narragansett events throughout 2009. One of the best had to be at Gillete Stadium for the Patriots season kick-off during Monday Night Football. New England fans from all over took photos with Tall Boy while tailgating. Then once inside for the game they could enjoy a delicious 'Gansett or 'Gansett light draft. What a great year to be Tall Boy.
